We left Showers Lake early this morning. The trail was a bit rocky but pretty. We saw a number of hikers since the PCT joined the Tahoe Rim Trail before Showers Lake.
We reached Highway 50 around noon and were able to hitch a ride to South Lake Tahoe. We went out to lunch and ran some errands around town. We’re looking forward to getting back on the trail soon!
Hey there! “Splash” and I send greetings! Splash is taking a couple Zero Days at his sister’s in Soda Springs. He’s heading back out on the trail tomorrow morning toward Sierra City.

That’s awesome!! Hopefully, we’ll catch him on trail!
Great blog on your adventure….was glad you were able to to get water in the Spanish Needles section north of Hwy 178. There is also an old cattle trough if you had to hike down from the trail.
Looks like you are making good progress!
Thanks!
Great pics Amy! Congratulations on making it to Lake Tahoe. That is up there! I feel like I am at the polar opposite of what you are doing with the house move. I need to take a hike! Love you!
Love you too!!
