This morning we left Falls Creek late. Condensation had formed in our tent some of which became frozen, so we took some time to dry out our gear. We began to climb several miles up Dorothy Lake Pass. Much of the trail had turned into streams or marshes.
Late in the morning we reached Dorothy Lake. The lake was gorgeous, and for the first time in days, we had entered an area that was free of mosquitoes. We took a long break.
After noon we resumed hiking over Dorothy Lake Pass ending our section in Yosemite National Park. We hiked downhill mostly for the rest of the day.
Then we crossed the 1,000 mile marker!!
In the evening we began the last big climb before reaching Sonora Pass. We made camp near Kennedy Canyon Creek. Tomorrow, we’ll be at Kennedy Meadows North!
