We summited Muir Pass early while the snow was still frozen.
Muir Pass had relatively less elevation gain near the peak than the previous passes, but we still had to climb several miles to the top.
We reached Muir hut on the top of the pass around 9am.
We then descended past some alpine lakes.
We spent the majority of the day hiking downhill through some fantastic views.
Eventually, we reached Evolution Meadow. Because I had a tough time fording previous rivers and streams due to the water temperature, we decided to take the alternate crossing to Evolution Creek.
The crossing was easy, but the surrounding trail was marshy. After rejoining the PCT we continued to hike down until we reached out planned campsite for the night.
Wow what stunning scenery! You definitely look like you’re having a blast. Enjoy the journey!
