Day 46: 5/9/21

We left Fox Mill Spring around 6:45am. We had one last climb and descent today before cruising into Kennedy Meadows.

Since Walker Pass, there have been more water sources, and today was no exception! We walked by the Kern River for some time.

As we approached Kennedy Meadows the landscape became more scenic!

We also passed the 700 mile marker!

We hiked to the trailhead to Kennedy Meadows. We were able to text Grumpy Bear’s Retreat for a ride, and they showed up with a big van.

We spent the evening catching up with other hikers and enjoying burgers and beer!

We don’t have cell reception here, but I was able to text my mom from the wifi! Happy Mother’s Day!

    That is a super-BURGER!

Thank you, sweetie! I loved hearing from you. EVERYTHING looks scenic to me! Dad thinks as you progress north into the forests that you’ll see less flowers. However, there will probably be some beautiful mosses and ferns.
