Day 37 4/30/2021

With a few town chores to get done, we stayed in Mojave for the day. We picked up the replacement sections and tips for my bent and broken trekking poles, resupplied on food and did laundry. We had to get a little creative with a hanger, bear cord and an air conditioner to dry out Amy’s pants!

Later in the day, fellow thru-hiker Splash and his wife, Margo, gave us a ride to the neighboring town of Tehachapi. Amy had to mail her pants out for a warrant repair, and I purchased a California fishing license for the upcoming Sierra Nevada section. I’m really looking forward to hitting the Sierra mountain streams and lakes for trout!

In the evening we finished planning our next section. Hard to believe we only have a week and a half of desert left before we get to Kennedy Meadows and enter the Sierra!

Hope the pants arrive quickly. Let me know if I can help.

Don’t hike without pants. From one who knows.

Sounds like there’s a story here!
