This morning we woke up to condensation all over our tent and quilt, so we took a little extra time to dry them off before leaving camp. There was a two lane highway near the trail that we had to cross last night to make camp. A local had seen us camping and brought us coffee and donuts while we were on our way out of camp! We went to a nearby fire station to fill up on water. Because of the Lake Fire closure, it was our last water source before Hiker Town, our campsite tonight. We started the day with a big climb then the trail became more level.
After hiking a little under 8 miles, we reached the fire closure.
The highway by the closure was not very busy, and we were unable to hitch. Luckily, a nearby hiker-friendly spot, the Wee Ville Market, gave rides to hikers. They pulled up with a huge van and about 9 of us piled in the vehicle. The driver took us to the market where a few of us grabbed some snacks and then to Hiker Town!
Hiker Town was super cute but super windy, so Sean and I paid to stay in the Captain’s Cabin! Tomorrow, we’ll be hiking the L.A. Aquaduct!
Luxury accomodations – nice!
The best!
