Today we left camp late around 8:30am; we only had 2 miles to hike to Highway 2 at Inspiration Point to hitch a ride into Wrightwood. Upon exiting our tent we were treated to some amazing views!
When we got to the highway we realized it was only used by locals and barely used at that. We called Mountain Hardware, a store known to be hiker-friendly, in Wrightwood. They were able to connect us with a trail angel who picked us up from Inspiration Point and drove us to the hardware store!
At the hardware store we bought some gear and snacks. We hung out for a bit in their PCT hiker lounge and then grabbed some food in town before checking into our room we previously booked at Canyon Creek Inn. We were able to get some laundry, meal planning, and other chores done. In the photo below I’m calculating mileage and food. We’re planning on taking a zero in Wrightwood tomorrow!
Great to catch up on everything you guys are doing. You are doing great! The USPS tracker says your package was delivered!
Awesome! Thanks for sending it
I am loving these updates and your photos! Dreaming of heading out that way one year and seeing it for myself!
Your photography is great, are you packing a real camera or are these all cellphone shots?
Anyway, safe travels…. looking forward to the rest of your trip.
Thanks! Sometimes the views are so good it’s hard to take a bad picture.
They are all cell phone shots. I have a Samsung galaxy 21 and she has a Google pixel.
Thanks for following along!
Love the updates thank you for staying with us at Canyon Creek Inn. Hope you guys got the rest you needed while in Wrightwood. We take pride in being one of the friendliest towns on the PCT.
