Day 2: 3/26/2021

By the morning we had stayed in the tent for about 16 hours because of the rain. We didn’t leave camp until 9:20am. The trail started out as a gentle stroll.

Eventually, we started the descent into Hauser Creek. There were some pointless ups and downs along the way. The scenery was beautiful but all of the vegetation was wet from the rain.

We saw a beautiful view of the Butte mountain, which we ascended for several miles out of Hauser Creek.

Finally, we got a view of Lake Morena where we planned to camp.

At Lake Morena we found our first trail magic!

We set up our tent at the county park and walked to the Oak Shores Malt Shop down the road for dinner. We’re looking forward to tomorrow!

So, trail magic is stuff people leave for hikers? Do they ever leave money or patio furniture?

Haha haven’t seen patio furniture yet! And no money, usually water or other drinks and some snacks. Any food or drink that you don’t have to carry is always a nice surprise appreciated by hikers.

Enjoy the Duplex tent. Enjoy your trek. Wish you good health and luck along the way.

Thanks! It’s actually the triplex, gives us a little extra room
