After two days off near Harpers Ferry, it was time to hit the trail again. The trail went through town, over the bridge and along a canal, providing some level easy hiking. At some point I crossed into Maryland, though I don’t remember seeing a sign. So now in my sixth State!
There were a bunch of turtles in the canal, sunning on logs and rocks.
Eventually the trail took a left turn away from the tow path and into the woods, but not before crossing an active railway.
Luckily the train was moving pretty quick soon passed. Leaving me with fantastic hair as it blew past me
There was a roughly 1,000ft climb after the tracks, but after that it was mostly flat hiking and I made pretty good time.
I ended up with about 15 miles today, not bad for starting around noon. I camped near Rocky Run Shelter.
It is supposed to be cool and dry for the next few days, I am going to make up some big miles this week.
