Started the day with breakfast at Bert’s before heading towards the steep climb up from the Lehigh gap.

About half way up, I had to strap my trekking poles to my pack so I could literally climb up the trail. The highlight was about a 20ft tall section of rock wall that you had to climb up. It doesn’t sound like much  until you are up there with 30lbs on your back with a strong wind blowing and a steep drop off below you!

The view from the top was incredible though.

I also found the only piece of acceptable graffiti I have seen all trip

The rest of the climb up the ridgeline was full of ankle turning rocks and boulders.

On the actual ridgeline, the trail actually became friendly for a bit!

It wad short lived through….

It got really hot and humid around midday, especially on the exposed rocks. Carrying extra water, made the day even longer with a heavy load.

To make matters worse, I snapped my spoon at Dinner!

It got a little windy as the evening wore on. Actually cooling off quite a bit by the time I set up my hammock and called it a night.
