Woke up at 4:30am, to a couple rain drops hitting my face. It wasn’t supposed to rain, so I hadn’t put my tarp up. I instantly went into crisis mode and set my tarp up in record  time. My quilt stayed dry, but part of the hammock, under quilt and everything I had hanging to dry, got soaked. It also cooled off to somewhere in the 50s, about a 40 degree drop from the day before.

I put on what dry layers I could, heated water for coffee and ate breakfast under my tarp before packing up and hitting the trail.

It was cold and wet, but still the last day in PA, so I was still in good spirits!

The rain made the rocky trail pretty treacherous and really slowed down my pace. You had to be sure of every step.

After lunch, the rain stopped and the trail dried out a bit

The trail passed through a rhododendron tunnel, something that I now realize had been absent in PA.

The trail finally wound around and offered a view of the Delaware river, the end was in sight!

I hiked down and stopped at the Apple Pie Bakery, it had been recommended by a bunch of people on and off the trail. They have a special for $2.95, you get a hotdog and a piece of pie.

They had all kinds of pies, pastries and cookies there.

I split a hotel room with Rabbit at the Pocono Inn. It had seen better days, but it was clean, had laundry and a shower.
