Started the day with a breakfast sandwich at the deli before hitting the trail. The trail went through an active pasture with about two dozen cows
The trail was very muddy today, making for another day of slow miles.
Some areas had wooden walkways which helped a bit.
Late morning, I crossed into Connecticut!
The trail wound up through a burned out section of forest. I later learned it was about a 200 acre burnt section.
I passed by St Johns Ledges late in the day, which provided excellent views over the countryside.
It began getting dark quickly as I descended down towards the Housatonic river. I made it down just as it was getting dark enough to need my headlamp, which I used to finish out the last couple miles of flat trail and camped near the Stewart Hollow Brook Shelter.
