A day starting off with pancakes is always a good day! The caretaker made pancakes and coffee for the other hikers and myself. Afterwards,  I took a bucket down to the pond to gather water for the cabin. The pond was ab incredible sight in the early morning.

I quickly decided to grab my fishing rod and head back down. I spent 20 minutes or so catching bluegill and sunfish before packing up and hitting the trail again.

The trail quickly turned into a muddy mess as rain came and went throughout the day. Some areas had little wooden foot paths which helped.

The trail passed over a number of small streams in the afternoon

I made it to Dalton, Massachusetts around 6:30 and got a room at the Shamrock Village Inn for the night to dry off, shower and eat large amount of food!

Tomorrow is going to be a rough day as the trail climbs up above three thousand feet for the first time since northern Virginia.
