We entered Lassen Volcanic National Park mid morning.
We took a short side trail to see the Terminal Geyser, which is a geothermal steam vent. It was pretty cool to see and hear the stream rising from the ground.
Later, we took another side trail to see Boiling Springs Lake. The colors on the ground surrounding it were really pretty.
A couple sections of low lying trail actually had wooden boardwalks over marshy areas.
In the evening we hiked through a long section of burned out forest.
Despite the previous forest fires, we saw plenty of deer.
We even had one walk up and visit us while we were taking a break.
She hung around for a while until we hiked on.
We hiked into the night, enjoying the cooler temperatures.
