After going to bed near 1am, we slept in until about 7:30. A ranger truck pulled up to the road by Cold Spring before we left camp, so we spoke to them for an update on the fire before leaving. However, we weren’t able to glean any new information before leaving camp. Luckily, the beginning of the day only had small ups and downs. We hiked quickly through the morning and early afternoon.
We then climbed about 2,000 feet before beginning our descent to the next town, Chester. Shortly down the mountain we reached the halfway marker!
After celebrating our victory of hiking the first half of the PCT, we hiked down to Soldier Creek where we made camp.
Congrats you two!
Thanks!!
