We started our day with a 3,000 foot climb out of Bear Creek. Much of the landscape was still burned but less so than yesterday.
Near the top of the climb, we got cell signal! So, we took a long break by Lookout Spring.
After the spring, patches of the trail became more exposed. The temperature has been close to triple digits lately, and even near 6,000 feet above sea level, it was hot!
We hiked on fairly flat trail until Big Creek Road. We got a hitch from the second vehicle we saw going towards Quincy. A super nice woman was on her way to Nevada and dropped us off in Quincy with some snacks! Thanks so much! Upon reaching town we saw Splash!
We’ll be spending the day here tomorrow to hopefully get some of our gear in order and get some town chores done.
