Day 63 5/26/2021

by | Jun 1, 2021 | Pacific Crest Trail

Today started off on a rough note, I snapped a trekking pole off at the handle. And you’d be surprised how hard it is to find a good hiking stick in the woods!

In spite of the gear failure and me now pulling a bit to the right, we pushed on and ran into some deer a short while later. (They were of no help finding a hiking stick.)

We continued on through a beautiful valley eventually entering the John Muir Wilderness.

We ended the day camped on a bluff overlooking Sallie Keyes Lake.

As I took off my shoes for the day I realized they were quickly turning into sandals with matching holes on each side of both shoes. Not a good day for gear, but hey, at least they are well ventilated!
