Day 42: 5/5/21

This morning we woke up later around 6am after a fun night of dualing trail magic.

Sixes still had his van at camp and offered to make a breakfast of bacon, eggs, smoothies, coffee, & chai tea for all of the hikers. Thanks so much for your generosity, Sixes!

After breakfast we immediately climbed about 1,500 feet out of Bird Spring Pass.

We ran across another snake on the trail! He didn’t want to move, so we stepped around him.

We hiked through the morning and got to our water source for the day around 1:30pm. We took at least half an hour break before resuming our hike through the afternoon heat.

We reached Walker Pass around 5pm. Lizard, along with Forever Fifty and Featherbed, gave us a ride to Kernville. We grabbed dinner together at Kern River Brewing Company to celebrate Forever Fifty and Featherbed completing their section! We’ve enjoyed hiking this section with Forever Fifty and Featherbed and have been grateful for the trail magic we’ve received from Lizard. Thanks again! Hopefully, we’ll see you up trail!
