7/14/2017 The Final Leg

by | Mar 3, 2021 | Appalachian Trail

Heading into the hundred mile wilderness today. We are planning 6 nights to make it through. Taking a little extra time to enjoy it.

I can’t wait to do some trout fishing! Hopefully catching enough for dinner one night.

Speaking of food, most of my resupply is below. Only a small child or a thru hiker could appreciate the pile of high calorie Pop Tarts, crackers, candy and other goodies!

Maine has been a the toughest challenge of the trail so far,  rugged, remote and steep. There has been bad weather, river crossings, thick mud, root covered trails and swarms of biting insects.

The wilderness and Mt Katahdin lay just ahead. An epic finish to an epic journey.

See you in a week!
