Started the day with breakfast at the Dalton Restaurant. I started with a double order of French toast and bacon. Added another order of French toast and by the time I finished, ate 18 pieces of French toast, two eggs, two pieces of wheat toast and several slices of bacon.

With a full stomach, I hit the trail. It would go through the town of Dalton for about another mile before heading back up into the pine covered mountains.

After a 1,000ft+ ascent of Crystal Mountain, the trail plunged back down into and through a small part of Cheshire before the 2,400ft climb up to Mt Greylock.

Fog began to roll in and it soon looked like rain.

I ran into another thru hiker, Farley and we hiked together the rest of the day. The plan was to make it to the shelter on the other side of Mt Greylock.

A thunderstorm finally rolled in though,  and by the time we made it to the Summit, we were soaked. It very windy and foggy,  you could barely make out the large memorial tower on top.

There was a lodge at the to with a bunkroom for hikers for $35.  We joined Rabbit and another hiker, Easy and stayed the night
