Started the day with a great breakfast cooked by Jody at the Rock N Sole hostel. Then Craig dropped me off back at the trail.
Once again the trail was rocky all day. There was a pretty steep climb about midday. With the warming temperatures and the rocks, it was a little strenuous. (And I swear, the picture below, really is a new picture of a rocky trail, they just all look the same!)
I saw a little snake in the middle of the trail later in the day.
After 14 miles, I made the very steep descent into Port Clinton. I made it a short day and planned to stay in town so I could have pancakes in the morning for my birthday!
I ran into Rabbit and we hitched into Hamburg to eat a a Chinese buffet, resupply and see the world’s largest Cabela’s. It was pretty impressive, but we got there a half hour before closing so couldn’t stay long though.
After hitching a ride back to Port Clinton, I set up my hammock in the hikers pavilion. An old picnic pavilion that hikers can camp at on the edge of town.
