Started the day with a cool little green tunnel.

The trail crossed the Swatara river on a neat iron bridge.

Afterwards, the trail got very rocky and would stay that way most of the day

When the trail did get less rocky, it was muddy or completely flooded out.

I stayed the night at the Rock n Sole hostel, run by a very friendly couple, Craig and Jody. One other hiker, Smiley, was there, nursing an injured ankle. It wad

$40 for the night,  but it included s home cooked dinner and breakfast!
