After getting a ride back into town, Fresh, Karaoke and I ate breakfast at a little café. Afterwards, they took off for the trail and I hung back to fish in the lake in town.
I only had a spool of line, a little float and some jigs/flies, but I did pretty good, landing about a dozen or so Brook Trout.
It was fun, but by the time I left town, it was already 12:30 pm and I still had over 20 miles to hike!
Luckily the first half was through rolling farmland and made for easy walking.
The sky soon turned gray though and before long, it began raining.
I finally made it to the shelter around 8:30pm. It was raining so instead of hanging my hammock, I decided to sleep in the shelter. I don’t carry a sleeping pad or mat though, so I took everything out of my pack and used to sleep on for insulation. It wasn’t the comfiest bed, but it kept me warm overnight.
