Hiked off on my own, Seeker needed to stay home for a day to take: care of a few things.

The weather was perfect, clear skies, 70s and for once, no wind. It was an easy start to the day as the trail wound through old farm fields, flat stretches of forest and crossed several small streams.

The contrast between the green grass and the blue skies was incredible.

Early in the afternoon I came across a little taste of spring! About 50ft down a hill off the trail was the first tree in bloom I have seen the entire trip.

The pink really stood out among the otherwise bland forest. I hiked down to take some close up pictures and found dozens of bees flying around the blossoms.

A little while later, I passed the quarter sign.  Technically, the mileage of the sign was off a bit, as the trail changes year to year.  More land is purchased, certain parts get rerouted etc.

The trail crossed several farm pastures, each time requiring you to climb over a “stile”, basically a ladder of sorts to get over the fence. Some were pretty tall and reminded me of an obstacle course.

Someone had left a sun bleached skull on one of the fence posts, I think it may have been a deer.

I saw a groundhog in a field.  It didn’t appear to see his shadow, so hopefully we are finished with the snow!

I ended the day at a little campsite near a stream with some other hikers. Being a clear night, I hung my hammock without the tarp and could look straight up at the stars and full moon.

Doesn’t get much better than this!
[For some reason, the word press app loaded some pictures upside down hopefully they do not look like that once this post is published]
