It rained all night long, finally slowing up a bit around 8am. I was able to get packed up and hit the trail around 9am.

The trail was muddy and the little stream I had camped near had turned into a muddy torrent of water.

Soon after I got back on the trail, it began raining again and the wind picked up. It was a rough 3000ft climb up to the top of Bald Knob.

By the time, I made it over the top and headed down, everything was soaked and freezing cold.

There was a shelter about a half mile off the trail that I hiked over too and got out of the wind and rain for a while.

With another 10 miles to go to my stopping point for the night, I pushed on.

It became foggy as I climbed Cole Mountain.

By the time I made it over the top and headed down, many of the little streams had flooded over the trail.

I made it in around 6pm and set everything up for another rainy night.  The forecast for tomorrow doesn’t sound good, but it can’t rain forever…..right?
