Started the day with a climb up Apple Orchard Mountain. At over four thousand feet, it was the highest climb I have had in a couple weeks.

At the top was a radar station.

From there, the trail wound down through the Thunder Ridge Wilderness. Immediately “Thunderstruck ” started playing in my head.

Later, down the hill, I passed under the “Guillotine” a boulder that had somehow gotten stuck in a crevice.

Had some great views in the afternoon

Eventually the trail took my down hill to the James River, and across the longest footbridge on the AT.

I hitched into Glascow for a burger before heading back to the trail and met a Dinosaur!

After eating, I hitched back to the trail and hiked close to two more miles to my camping spot for the night.

Along the way, I found a beer on a footbridge!

Great way to end a great day!
