Got an early start to the day, leaving just as it was getting light out.

Ended up hiking with Peace Walker after hitting the trail. She is a thru hiker from France and is hiking to raise money for a non profit, Oxfam.

The link to her page is listed below, check it out if you have minute. It is a French site, but should change over to English when loaded.

Around mid morning, we heard a crash and saw a wildcat sprinting up the hill.  It was too quick to get a picture, but still neat to see.

The trail went up hill past a pond, before pushing out on to Garden mountain and a ridgeline that would continue for the next 8 miles or so.

The ridgeline trail was remarkable, only in how unremarkable it was. Nothing was in bloom yet and the only views you could see, were through the trees into the valley below.

Eventually we worked our way down to a camping spot at Laurel Creek. It was a nice quiet night with a very bright full moon.
